Over the years, farrier Aletia Reilingh tried many hoof care products. Usually disappointed by the results, she founded “The Hoof Company”. Since 2022, Strahlfoili has been winning over horse owners, farriers, hoof trimmers and veterinarians around the world.
Strahlfoili was specially developed for the care of horses with hoof health problems such as thrush, brittle walls, white line disease and other hygiene-related hoof problems.
How to use Strahlfoili on your horses’ hooves
Prepare and Clean the Hoof
The application of Strahlfoili is simple.
Pick out any dirt or stones and brush the hooves clean.
A regular hoof pick and a hard brush or wire brush are helpful in this process. If you washed your horse’s hooves before the application, make sure to dry them with a towel.
Apply Strahlfoili to the hoof
Once the hoof and frog have been cleaned, Strahlfoili can be easily applied to the frog, sole, white line, hoof cracks and nail holes. Strahlfoili is for external use only. Strahlfoili can be applied to the hoof by hand, with a brush, a wooden spatula or a small brush, such as a toothbrush. The hoof can be set down as soon as you apply Strahlfoili. For frogs needing extra attention, apply once daily for a minimum of 10 days, followed by 2–4 applications per week for ongoing care.
Use with Pads and Glue-ons
Strahlfoili is an excellent choice to maintain hygiene under pads. It is further tested with the most common Polyurethane materials and DIM on the market and can be used with any shoeing method, it can remain under pads and fillings throughout the shoeing cycle. When using glue shoes, do not apply Strahlfoili to the sidewall before glueing them. Strahlfoili is, however, super on the sole, frog, and white line in combination with the glue shoe. Once the shoe is in place and the adhesive has cured, you can apply Strahlfoili as usual.
