  • Order and account details: products ordered, order history, returns, customer-service correspondence and, if accounts are offered, account credentials and preferences.

4. Marketing

If we offer a newsletter or other electronic marketing, we will send it only where you have opted in or where the applicable rules allow us to contact existing customers about our own similar products after giving a clear opportunity to opt out. You can stop marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in a message or by emailing aletia@strahlfoili.com. Unsubscribing does not stop essential order and service messages.

We do not assume that placing an order is consent to marketing. If we use targeted advertising, the relevant tracking and data-sharing arrangements must be explained in our cookie settings or an updated version of this policy before they are used.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The webshop may use technologies that are necessary for functions such as the shopping basket, checkout and security. If we use other cookies, pixels or similar technologies, we will explain their purposes, providers and lifetimes in the webshop’s cookie notice or settings and offer the choices required by law. Where consent is required, we will obtain it before using the technology; where an applicable exception is used, we will provide any required information and opportunity to object. You can revisit the site’s cookie settings to change your choices.

Cookie details

The cookies and similar technologies we use, including their purposes, providers and lifetimes, are listed in our Cookie Policy. You can change your cookie choices at any time using the “Manage consent” button on this website.

6. Who we share information with

We share information only where needed for the purposes described above. Recipients may include our webshop and hosting providers, payment providers, banks, delivery companies, IT and security providers, customer-support providers, professional advisers and public authorities where legally required. We give service providers access only to the information needed for their role and require appropriate protections where they process information for us.

Payment providers and delivery companies may also process information under their own privacy notices where they act as independent controllers.

7. International data transfers

Strahlfoili is based in Germany, so information about UK customers may be processed in Germany. The UK has adequacy regulations covering transfers to Germany and the other EEA countries.

If we use a provider in another country, we will check whether the transfer is covered by applicable adequacy arrangements or put in place appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, where required. You can request information about the safeguards relevant to your data by emailing us.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including applicable tax, accounting, consumer-law and legal-claim requirements. In particular:

  • We retain order, payment and refund records for the relevant statutory record-keeping periods and, where necessary, to deal with disputes or claims.
  • We retain customer-service correspondence while an enquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle follow-up, complaints or claims.
  • If customer accounts are offered, we retain account details while the account is active and afterwards only where a legal requirement or legitimate claim requires it.
  • We retain marketing preferences while we market to you, and may keep a minimal suppression record after you opt out so that we do not contact you again for that purpose.
  • We retain technical logs and cookie-related information for periods appropriate to their security or website purpose; details of individual technologies should be available in the cookie notice or settings.

When the applicable period ends, we delete or anonymise the information, unless a legal obligation or an ongoing dispute requires us to keep it longer.

9. Your rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you can ask us to:

  • provide access to your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • erase information;
  • restrict certain uses of information;
  • provide certain information in a portable format; or
  • stop processing information where the right to object applies.

You have the right to object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing, including any profiling related to direct marketing. You may also object to processing based on our legitimate interests, subject to the applicable legal rules. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise a right, email aletia@strahlfoili.com or write to us at the address above. We may need to verify your identity before responding and will respond within the applicable legal time limit. These rights are not absolute; if we cannot fulfil a request in full, we will explain why.

10. Complaints

If you have a question or complaint about our handling of personal information, contact us using the details in section 1. We will acknowledge and investigate data protection complaints and explain our response. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. Depending on your circumstances, you may also complain to a competent EU or German supervisory authority.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our webshop, suppliers or legal requirements. The current version will be posted on the webshop with its last-updated date. Where a change requires us to notify you or obtain fresh consent, we will do so.
